We are so excited to introduce a new and exciting dog sport and training class K9 Nosework!
Urban life does not afford many opportunities for dogs to use their nose in ways they were born to do–at least not appropriately. Sure, they’ll sniff and find every little piece of garbage on the street, or bits of dinner sitting temptingly on the counter—dig up our plants in the backyard, chase birds, cats, and joggers. Nosework gives our dogs a structured game in which to pursue these powerful urges and gives us a chance to share in fun with them!

Puppy Clinics – one day seminars to fine tune your puppy’s behavior!

TOTAL RECALL – 7/31/2010 from 2-4pm
The “Come” cue is perhaps the most important one you can teach your young pup. It could save them in an emergency, it will allow them to run freely off-leash. It will save you from exasperating games of chase when it’s time to leave the dog park.
Keep your puppy coming back for more, before they decide to high-tail it in the other direction! We’ll focus on Recall games and show you how you can build a solid, reliable recall in a fun and easy way!
LEASH SKILLS – Walk This Way! – 8/7 from 2-4pm
Taking a walk with your puppy doesn’t have to be a push me- pull you of frustration! Whether you have a puller, or a staller,-work out the kinks on your leash walks.
This workshop will focus on fun training games that teach your pup the rules of the road. You’ll learn the secret to:
- Increase their focus on you vs. what’s up ahead.
- Build impulse control muscles to help resist distractions like garbage or other dogs.
- Make the choice to walk by your side .

“Summerthing” Golden Gate Event – check out how much fun we had!

This past Sunday, June 27th, SF Puppy Prep teamed up 97.3 Alice Radio for an all day free concert in Golden Gate Park (Speedway Meadows). We had a booth with fun activities, including a fashion show and canine freestyle performance, free raffles, agility equipment and of course a puppy playgroup!
Thank you to everyone who made this event happen! We especially thank our clients for participating, talking to potential clients about us and showcasing your puppies for the park to see their cuteness!

My client and I worked on teaching Sparkle, a now 6 month old maltipoo, new behaviors through our Class at Home service.
I met with these two once a week to teach them new concepts and to make sure they were succeeding at maintaining good behavior!

We are launching our Adult Dog training classes: Freshman Basics, Mini Mutt Manners & Sophomore Intermediate!
Freshman Basics is a class perfect for the recent adoptee! We’ll give you tools to ensure a smooth transition into your dog’s forever home! Our next 6 week class meets:
May 19 – June 23th from 6:15 – 7:15pm Wednesdays
