health & sanitation
Our Facility
SF Puppy Prep is located at 251 Sixth St. between Folsom and Howard in a 5300-square foot space. We have two floors to accommodate our different puppy playgroups and various nightly classes and Puppy Socials. Rubber flooring prevents your puppy from getting hurt while roughhousing.

Our Sanitation Protocols
We employ the latest health and sanitation protocols for canine facilities.
We use Trifectant disinfectant on all floors to keep the space as germ-free as possible.
Toys are sanitized every day after playtime.
Towels used in crates or at the facility are washed and cleaned daily.
All Puppy Counselors are trained to look out for signs of common puppy bugs.

Vaccinations
Your puppy must have 2 sets of puppy vaccines and his Bordatella shot to enroll at SF Puppy Prep.

Anytime a puppy (or adult dog) socializes with other dogs, there’s a risk of catching communicable canine sicknesses. But research shows that the risk of under-socializing your puppy is far greater than the risk of your puppy contracting any life-threatening diseases. Please see Dr. Anderson’s article.

That said, just like in human kindergarten, there’s always the risk of catching whatever bug is going around. The standard annual vaccines are excellent in protecting dogs against the more serious diseases, however, pups can pick up things like kennel cough (Bordatella) or common doggie colds. Although not dangerous, these airborne viruses are highly contagious. Even dogs displaying no symptoms can be carriers. Please see our Sick Policies for more detailed information.

We recommend purchasing Veterinary Pet Insurance—it comes in handy if your pup contracts a cold and it helps pay for vaccinations and spay/neuter costs.
