I recently took our Canine Freestyle Seminar with my 1.5 year old black lab mix Sully! I was very excited to spend quality time with him and become the “student” for once! So on the rainy Sunday of the seminar, I cut up my treats (bringing a variety of course) packed us in the car and headed down to puppy prep!
We had a blast together; I nearly cried I was so proud of Sully! His focus on me was amazing, treats or not treats. Usually when he and I are training in a class, he is very still, waiting, hoping for the next move. During the freestyle class, he started to relax, loosen his mouth and body and have fun, offering bouncy movements from time to time. We moved as one and had a blast while doing it!
It was also pretty amazing to be a student. Man, you guys have a lot to manage!! There was one point where I had no clue what we were working on and I am a trainer!!!! It was a great learning experience for me to break down the topics I am teaching and have slightly smaller goals for my human students.
If you are interested in joining Sully & I at the next Canine Freestyle Seminar – check out the dates on our website!
See you soon!
